Karen Harmsen

Karen has a wealth of experience with providing advice and legal representation in the field of property law (contract and liability law, financing and security), insolvency law and accounting law. Having not only studied law but also completed the registeraccountant training, Karen draws on her legal, business economics and accounting expertise when providing these services.
Karen holds a part-time professorship of Company Law and Accounting Law at the University of Amsterdam.
When the lights are switched off at our offices, Karen takes the firm’s canine team member Einstein home with her.

Merel Goldschmidt
Lawyer
Merel specialises in employment law. She completed the Grotius Academy’s Employment Law specialist programme cum laude. Merel is an editor and annotator of healthcare platform GZR Updates and a member of the Supervisory Board of Filmhuis Den Haag.
During Carnival Merel can be found in the south of the Netherlands in Kruikenstad and she is happy to live near the beach.

Floris Werners
LAWYER
Floris is involved in the procedural and liability law (corporate en commercial litigation). Floris assists companies, directors, and commissioners in liability disputes. In addition, he also has experience in professional liability, including disciplinary proceedings (mainly for lawyers and notaries).

Nina Nypels
LAWYER
Nina has worked as an attorney since 2021 and has strengthened TOON’s employment law practice since 2024. She advises and litigates on matters including dismissal law, employee participation and transfer of undertaking.
Nina obtained her master’s degree in Employment Law cum laude at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and also studied International Law for a semester at the Universitat de Barcelona during her bachelor. When she is not at work, Nina can be found in Amsterdam’s cultural scene. She is a lover of theater and music.

Aladár Bleeker
COO
As TOON’s COO, Aladár Bleeker is responsible for ensuring that everyone at TOON can focus all their efforts on their respective practices.
Aladár has years of experience, first as the head of human resources at a leading law firm in Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district, and later as a partner in a boutique law firm, where he was in charge of business development and client relations. Drawing on that experience, he advises businesses and organisations on how best to set up their operations, arrange their human resources
and compose their legal teams and other units. Aladár also coaches teams and individual team members.
Aladár is a member of the advisory board of the Van Gogh Museum. He is also an avid gardener, and not just in his own garden.

Marcel van Rosmalen
Office Manager
Marcel van Rosmalen, TOON’s office manager, provides the bedrock on which all the firm’s services are built. He possesses years of experience as a personal assistant to attorneys at large international law firms and smaller boutique law firms. When he’s not at the office, Marcel enjoys training groups at his local gym.

- (Senior) employee (corporate) litigation/insolvency law: TOON has a broad civil and insolvency law advisory and litigation practice and has a position available for a content-driven, entrepreneurial lawyer. You will work together with Karen Harmsen and also have all the space to build your own practice.
